Have you ever held in your hands an old family album, flipped through its pages looking for precious details hidden on each of those photographs?

The dress your mum was wearing in 1979, her handbag, your family car.

Maybe the puppy you grew up with.

Every photograph, every detail is a story, a memory, a moment in time that you can relive. Touch. Smell.

This is where my love for photo albums come from. My own family, my own story.

Albums help us to slow down and mull over the things that are important in life – like family, love and memories.

Albums help us to reflect on our past and think about our future; they transport us to long lost memories and let us visit old forgotten friends.

Ultimately a family photo album shows us that we have been loved and reminds us where we have come from

And there is more to it.

Creating an album brings a little piece of luxury in your life. It’s just like treating yourself to a stay at a 5-star hotel, dining at a 3 star restaurant or flying first class: a different experience.

Albums come in different materials, sizes, colours, they use different types of paper… and you get the luxury of choosing what you love.

The way you want it to feel in your hands, the texture, how you want it to look.

In my studio, the Family Album is by far the most popular keepsake for families, many of whom come back year after year to add to their album collection.

One good reason to display Family photographs in an album is that it can have a postive impact on your child’s confidence.

Don’t take my word on it, a licensed psychologist from Cleveland, Ohio says, “I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.”

David Krauss is one of the founding pychologist in using people’s personal photography and family albums to assist in mental health counseling and therapy.

He goes on “When your family photographer facilitates meaningful interaction during your session, she is not only creating moments that will result in emotive images.  She is giving you an opportunity to connect and focus on how much you enjoy and love one another.

So what better reason than to dispay your family images in a professionally bound album?

Albums come sized 12 x 12 inches with your choice of acrylic, eco-leather, original leather or linen covers.  Each photo is printed on a thick, rigid, page to give durability and that extra luxury feel. This, and the perfect bound, makes them just like hardcover books you would find in a library.

Albums are stored in a presentation art box  allowing you to display at home on your coffee table.

You can have a minimum selection of 10 and a maximum of 80 of your most loved images and your choice of cover options.
